Anyone with an old PC ( or parts) you no longer have use for are encouraged to bring them to us so we can rebuild them to give to those in need of a computer. The old machine you think is a waste of space may be a useful tool for homework or sending out resumes.

As you can see by my username - I do pcrecycling myself. The hard part I have is just finding a source to dispose of the monitors Anything BELOW a Pentium 2 unless its a server I usually dismantle and recycle. I scrap the metal myself and have a partner of sorts that deals with the boards. I dont make much money out of the deal but thats ok I like to keep the old systems out of the landfills.

Monitors can be especially nasty, considering the old CRT's often have both lead and mercury inside. Another thing to be careful of - CRT monitors are known for storing electrical charges for months on end, usually a couple thousand volts or more. Under no circumstances should you open one without taking the proper precautions.
